Report: Redskins from Peyton Manning contest

It appears Peyton Manning has already been winnowing lower their email list of teams he'll entertain when the time comes to determine his next National football league home.

And apparently his new zipcode won't be in Washington.

Per Redskins insider Chris Russell of ESPN 980, the 4-time MVP has told they he'll not sign there.

"A few different sources within the organization have explained that Manning's camping managed to get pretty obvious to Redskins authorities he does not wish to come here," Russell stated Thursday on SportsCenter.

"There are many reasons for your. His brother Eli, the cooler weather, the entire situation lower in Miami and so forth and so on. But unless of course that changes -- and I am taking my sources at their word -- I do not think Manning's coming here to D.C."

It appears Manning's preference would be to stay in the AFC, permitting him to prevent more frequent matchups against his more youthful brother's Titans. Peyton's former teammate, Marshall Faulk, indicated just as much following his release in the Colts on Wednesday.

Former Ravens coach John Billick was among individuals who did not feel Manning would be a logical fit for that frequently staggering Redskins anyway.

"I've got a hard time imagining that (Washington HC) Mike Shanahan is really gonna subvert his system -- I'm not sure if that is the best term or otherwise -- when it comes to what's been effective an eternity, work,Inch Billick stated lately on ESPN Radio. "Certainly he'll adapt, but as far as you need to if you are gonna generate Peyton Manning? Plus, I'm not sure they have the (roster) assets presently there to really make it attractive enough arrive at Washington."
